KATHMANDU, March 28: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will operate regular flights from and to the Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA). The NAC has got two weekly flight slots from this airport with effect from April.
According to Jagannath Niraula, the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the national flag-carrier can conduct flights from the GBIA on Tuesday and Thursday of the week. Niraula said that NAC is planning flights on the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu route.
NAC Spokesperson Archana Khadka said that the corporation has already started homework for the flight from Bhairahawa. The NAC has not fixed the fare for the flight yet.
Earlier, CAAN had cut the Kathmandu-Delhi flight slot a few months ago saying that there was no flight from Bhairahawa. After cutting that slot, there was a dispute between CAAN and NAC. Then, the NAC proposed the Kathmandu-Delhi-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu flight.
