NAC resumes flights to Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Simara

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed its flights to Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Simara beginning today. 

The flights were resumed in consideration of the need to provide facility to the travelers during the festivals of Bada Dashain and Tihar, NAC Spokesperson, Ram Hari Sharma, told the National News Agency (RSS). 

The NAC's Pokhara and Bhairahawa bound flights will take off at 6:30 am and 10:30 am from Kathmandu respectively. Meanwhile, the flight to Simara, with a schedule for take off at 8:30 am, was cancelled for today. 

The cost for the ticket for Kathmandu – Pokhara flight has been fixed at Rs 2,550, Kathmandu – Bhairahawa Rs 3,025 and Kathmandu – Simara Rs 2,225. The NAC is resuming flights to Simara after five years' hiatus. The flights to Pokhara and Bhairahawa had been stalled some months ago after its aircrafts broke down. 

The national flag-carrier has four aircrafts for domestic flights among which three are currently operational. Sharma said the fourth aircraft has already been repaired and maintained, and it will fly within the next five days. 

The Corporation has been carrying out its international flights with three airplanes one Boeing and two Airbuses. Last Monday, it announced a tender bidding to purchase two additional wide- body aircrafts. RSS
