NAC pays Rs 530.9 million installment on loan

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) paid an installment on the loan it took to purchase two narrow-body and two wide-body aircrafts for international flights.

KATHMANDU, April 14: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) paid an installment on the loan it took to purchase two narrow-body and two wide-body aircrafts for international flights.


NAC had borrowed funds from the Employees Provident Fund and the Citizen Investment Trust. According to Spokesperson Subash Dangi, the airline paid Rs 530.9 million on April 13, settling the full installment for two narrow-body aircraft and a partial installment for two wide-body aircraft.

In the press release, Dangi added that the corporation has paid a total of Rs 7.40 billion in loan installments up to mid-April, 2025.


NAC has requested the Employees Provident Fund and the Citizen Investment Trust to waive the interest, compound interest, penalties, and fines incurred during the period when the global coronavirus pandemic affected its business. The NAC has also asked both institutions to increase the number of installments to ease loan repayment. According to the NAC, both sides are currently holding discussions on the matter.
