"NA the most reliable institution"

KATHMANDU, July 17: After the successful completion of Operation Sankat Mochan, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana on Friday said Nepal Army is the most reliable and effective institution in the country.

"Operation Sankat Mochan" was launched soon after the April 25 earthquake for rescue operations and debris management.

As per the government decision to mobilize NA in search and rescue operation, Operation Sankat Mochan was carried out till mid-July.

Addressing NA personnel in the capital, CoAS Rana said performance of the NA during the disaster was highly acclaimed globally. "It's a matter of pride that the international community has praised the role of Nepal Army for its contribution," CoAS Rana said.

Thousands of NA men had been deployed in 580 villages of 14 districts after the devastating earthquake hit the country.
