NA rescues mentally unstable man who climbed on overhead high tension electrical lines

KATHMANDU, June 11: Nepal Army (NA) has successfully rescued a mentally unstable man who had climbed on overhead high tension electrical lines on Saturday morning. A team of NA rescued the man with the help of a helicopter.

KATHMANDU, June 11: Nepal Army (NA) has successfully rescued a mentally unstable man who had climbed on overhead high tension electrical lines on Saturday morning. A team of NA rescued the man with the help of a helicopter.


Maila BK, 44, of Ghalegaun, Belkotgadhi Municipality-13 climbed onto high tension overhead electrical cables and remained there since this morning after he climbed an overhead power line located at Kakani Rural Municipality-7.

Due to the incident, the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project with a capacity of 60 MW had to be shut down, which also resulted in an average loss of Rs six million to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). NEA had asked the NA for help to rescue the man.


Similarly, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal had also urged the NA to rescue the man hanging on the high tension overhead electrical cables.
