NA chair pledges to make upper house more effective

CHITWAN, March 21: National Assembly chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has pledged to make the presence and role of NA more effective in the days to come. 

Talking to media in Bharatpur today, he said the NA would move ahead as per the sentiments of the constitution by institutionalizing its achievements of one year. 

“The NA has given directions to the government on the basis of necessity along with its regular works of formulating laws and acts ,” he said, adding that the government had also followed the NA directives. Many laws have been formulated and others will be drafted on the basis of necessity, according to him. 

As he said, acts to be formulated by the federal government will incorporate the needs and problems of three levels with ways for solutions. 

The hurdles facing the three-level governments to work in absence of required laws will come to an end once the laws relating to allocation of rights among them. 
He stressed that federalism should not be questioned just for pro-people politics had not been established yet. 

As he said, House is meeting regularly on the basis of concern and suggestions expressed for laws demanded by the constitution for three-level government. The upper house chair further underlined the need of leading the country towards prosperity through the right implementation of federalism. 

He said he was hopeful that the face of nation could be changed only through support and cooperation from all quarters and people could feel change if budget was spent in a transparent and quality way. RSS
