BENI (Myagdi), Aug 3: Preparations are on to declare Myagdi a fully-literate district by mid-April next year.

Literacy rate of 24 villages and the Beni Municipality has exceeded 95 per cent and the District Education Office Myagdi has planned to declare the district a fully-literate zone.

Literacy rate of remaining 11 VDCs nears 90 per cent and it is expected to meet the set standards in near future.

Illiterate people in the 15-59 years age group are the targets of the literacy campaign launched in the district, District Education Officer Ram Prasad Adhikari said.

Likewise, 21 community teachings centers here are providing classes to the aged people. RSS
