Muslims in Nepalgunj offer collective Bakar Eid prayers

NEPALGUNJ, July 10: The Muslim community of Nepalgunj is celebrating Bakar Eid on Sunday. This is the second biggest festival of the Muslim community. Bakra Eid is also known as the festival of eating meat.

On the occasion of Bakar Eid, the Muslim community in Nepalgunj said their prayers on Sunday morning. They prayed at the local Eidgah at BP Chowk. A large number of people were present to exchange good wishes on the occasion.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Mohammad Istiaq Rai, mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, Prashant Bista, Deputy Mayor Kamruddin Rai, outgoing mayor Dr Dhawal Samsher Rana, leaders and representatives of major political parties, civil society leaders and others had reached the Eidgah premises.

The government has also announced a public holiday on Sunday on the occasion of Bakar Eid.
