KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The National Muslim Struggle Alliance has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal over various issues of the community on Thursday.
Submitting a four-point letter to the prime minister, a delegation led by Samim Miya Ansari, coordinator of the Alliance, urged Dahal to ensure Muslim representation in his cabinet.
The Alliance also asked the prime minister to make arrangements for the Hajj pilgrimage for 1,650 Nepali Muslims although the annual government quota for the pilgrimage is 1000.
“The government should form an independent Madrasa Board by formulating a Madrasa Act for effective development of Madrasa education. Teachers and necessary fund should be immediately provided for Madrasas,” reads the letter.
