JANAKPUR, Jan 11: The relatives of Shree Ram Thakur, who was murdered in October in Basbiti VDC of Dhanusha, encircled the District Court and the district attorney's office in Dhanusha on Monday accusing them of protecting the murderer.

They staged protest on the streets and later encircled the offices. Police on Monday itself had filed a case at the court against Jitendra Kumar Chaudhary, Manoj Kumar Chaudhary and Ritu Mishra Thakur in connection with the death.

The relatives allege that the police freed the accused despite the complaint clearly identifying them. The family members have filed a case in the court saying that the police did not charge "the murder accused Dipak Chaudhary" also known as Bhulla and Bijay Kumar Thakur. The police however said there are not enough evidences against Chaudhary and Thakur.

On January 3, the district attorney's office had asked the District Police Office, Dhanusha to release both of the accused on bail.

Thakur was found dead on October 23 along the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road section of Dhanusha. According to police, their investigation found that extra-marital affair was the motive behind the murder. Police said Thakur, the victim, was out of the country for foreign employment, and in his absence, Thakur's wife was having an extra-marital affair with Jitendra Chaudhary, one of those accused in the murder.
