Municipality to increases allowances for single men and orphans

BAITADI, June 28: The Melalui Municipality of Baitadi has decided to increase the allowance being provided to single men and orphans living within the municipality. 

According to  Radha Ojha, Deputy Mayor of the municipality, the allowance has been increased by Rs 500 for the members of these two groups. With this, the monthly grant has increased to Rs 2000 from Rs 1500 per individual. 

Ojha said that the local administration has been providing monthly allowances to as many as 88 single men around the age of 50 to 60 and 19 orphans inside the municipality. The allowances will be distributed through bank accounts from next fiscal year, she said.
