KHOTANG, July 23: Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality in the district has decided to remove a crusher industry running illegally in the municipality. 

The crusher industry being run at Rakedanda of Nunthala was asked to stop operation because it was found running illegally, said municipality mayor Dipnarayan Rijal, adding that the industry was run by a contractor assigned to blacktop Diktel Haleshi section of the Mid-Hill Highway. 

Mayor Rijal further said the crusher industry run for more than a year is near a historic and touristy place where the Ranke fair is organized by the Kirat community. 

Although the crusher industry had signed agreement with a local community forest, it was not granted permission from the municipality, district forest office and others. 

Earlier, the people from Buipa village had pressed the district administration to remove the crusher industry, but in vain. RSS
