Municipal officer arrested

KATHMANDU, April 3: Nabin Kumar Shrestha, an account officer of Sankhuwasabha Municipality, has been arrested on charge of misusing funds from the municipal office.

Acting on a tip off, a team deployed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday arrested the accused from his office and took him under custody. Shrestha has been accused of not depositing the money meant to be deposited in the bank account and misusing other resources.

CIAA Spokesperson Dirgharaj Mainali said an investigation into the case is underway.
