Muncipality to adopt zero tolerance against corruption

KHOTANG, July 2: The elected municipality committee of Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Rupakot in Khotang district has decided to adopt 'zero tolerance against corruption'.

The first meeting of the committee has decided to adopt the policy after concluding that it hinders both development and change, according to the recently-elected mayor Dip Narayan Rijal.

"Development is not possible unless we end corruption, so we decided to adopt zero tolerance against corruption," he said.

The municipality also decided to add Biktel to the existing name of the municipality, set up ward offices in all 15 wards, make Diktel Bazaar a well-managed municipality by controlling haphazard urbanization, building better roads to provide access for fire engine.
