Written and directed by Shabir Shrestha, 'Kahi Katai' is a love story that tempts the viewers with its romantic ballads, humor and the picturesque view of Sikkim.
The movie is based on the Siwani's (portrayed by Siwani Giri) dreams, and the recollection of Gopal’s (characterized by Dilip Raimajhi) love tale.
Official trailer of ‘Kahi Katai’ out
Siwani is an aspiring actress who has been invited to Kathmandu to pursue her dreams. However, Gopal is against her daughter traveling to Kathmandu. The movie turns into a narrative of Gopal’s past love story when Siwani asks the reason for rejection.
Songs like ‘Jhwaiya Jhana’ and ‘Yo Mausam’ has attempted to keep the audiences hooked throughout the movie. However, the lengths of most songs exceed the agreeable duration of conventional conversations.
The difference in video quality is the biggest flaw of the movie. The resolution difference is evident between regular scenes and aerial shots of Sikkim – which are comparatively poor in quality. It’s a pity that the most captivating scenes that include the snowy mountains have a rather blurry presentation. Also, the camerawork isn't plausible either. Most characters have failed to make direct contact with the camera. On the contrary, kudos to Dilip Rayamajhi’s comic timings and dialogue delivery; his experience has come into play in the movie.
