JHAPA, Nov 27: A motorcyclist died in a road accident in Jhapa.
The accident occurred early Monday morning on the East-West Highway near Kamal Bridge in Ward No. 1, Shivasatakshi Municipality, Jhapa District.
Motorcyclist killed in accident
A Bolero pickup (Pra 1-01-001 Cha 8221), traveling eastward, collided head-on with a motorcycle (Me 6 Pa 2514) coming from the opposite direction around 5:00 AM.
The motorcycle rider, Lalit Bahadur Thapa aged around 40 years sustained critical injuries. Although injured Thapa was immediately rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamod, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at 6:55 AM, according to medical reports.
The Bolero's driver, Bishal Khawas, 31, of Mechinagar Municipality-8, has been taken into police custody. Further investigation into the accident is underway, according to the Area Police Office in Jhiljhile.
