Lahan, Sept 16: A one-year-old baby girl was killed when her mother with jumped with her into a pond at Dhangadhi in Siraha district on Thursday evening. 

Mother Hira Khanal, 28, of Dhangadhi Municipality-12 however was rescued alive by police. The reason behind the incident is yet to be known. 

The deceased has been identified as Dilisa. Injured Hira was rushed to Lahan-based Ram Prasad Uma Memorial Hospital, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar KC.

The body has been kept at Lahan-based Ram Kumar Sarada Uma Prasad Murarka Memorial Hospital for examination, KC said, adding that further investigation was underway. RSS
