KATHMANDU, Dec 3: A mother and her one-month-old daughter have been found dead while sleeping at Bouddha in Kathmandu on Thursday morning.
According to police, Pemba Sherpa, 27, and her one-month-old daughter have been found dead in a rented room at Gokarneshwor Municipality-2. Pemba’s husband Dorje was found unconscious.
“Hailing from Sindhupalchowk, the Sherpa family was living in a rented room in Bouddha,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Karki, who is the chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha.
The health condition of Dorje, who is receiving treatment at Nepal Medical College in Jorpati, is improving.
The preliminary investigation of police shows that Pemba and her daughter died of suffocation. “A heater was turned on in the room, and all the windows were closed,” Karki said, adding that police are further investigating the case.
