SIMKOT, April 12: Most of the hotels and other businesses in district headquarters of Humla are found operating without registering themselves with the concerned agencies.
In the course of market monitoring conducted on Sunday in the Simkot area, most of the businesses were found to have operated without legal documents. Chief of Food Technology and Quality Control Division Office in Surkhet Bhesh Bahadur Thapa said that hotels, groceries and fresh houses in the Simkot bazaar area are found running their business activities without officially registering with the government agencies concerned.
Thapa said that such business firms have been asked to get registered. He said that they would be sealed off if they failed to comply with the legal procedures.
Thapa said that the number of firms that are not registered could go up if more businesses are monitored. Likewise, even the shops with registration documents lack PAN numbers. Some date-expired drinks, junk foods and other products were destroyed after the monitoring.
