Monsoon starts departing from Nepal

According to the DHM, the monsoon has already retreated from Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as many areas in the western part of Lumbini Province. A few parts of Gandaki Province have also seen the monsoon’s departure.

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has said that the monsoon has begun to withdraw from the country starting today.



According to the DHM, the monsoon has already retreated from Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as many areas in the western part of Lumbini Province. A few parts of Gandaki Province have also seen the monsoon’s departure.

In its bulletin issued on Monday, the DHM stated that monsoon winds have been gradually weakening and are expected to withdraw from the remaining parts of the country over the next few days.


The DHM also added that it will continue to provide updates on further developments related to the monsoon.
