KATHMANDU, June 22: Monsoon is currently active in five provinces of the country.
The monsoon, which entered from Koshi province, has now spread to most parts of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the eastern region of Lumbini.
The influence of westerly and local winds remains minimal in the other provinces.
WEATHER ALERT: Monsoon to become active again starting Monday
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, due to the influence of monsoon and westerly winds, the weather is completely cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali this morning, while it is partially cloudy in the rest of the country.
Currently, some areas of Gandaki and parts of Bagmati, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
Later this afternoon, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
The daily bulletin issued by the MFD this morning indicates that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, a few places in Koshi and Madhesh, and one or two places in the remaining parts of the country.
The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the remaining parts of the country today.
