KATHMANDU, June 2: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has taken action against an employee of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) who stopped the passengers about to board the aircraft after buying tickets at the airport. 


Officials at the MoCTCA informed Republica that action had been taken as there was no satisfactory answer given to the ministry while interrogating in charge of the unit Gagan Bahadur Chand, the concerned employee of the airline.

According to the MoCTCA, Thakur Singh Bhandari, who had bought a corporate ticket for the Kathmandu-Taplejung flight and got his boarding pass on Wednesday, was turned away by the airline staff.


Tourism Minister Sudan Kiranti said that the incident is being investigated further The ministry said Chand, who is in-charge of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), has been transferred to Taplejung as a measure of action.
