Missing border pillar found after 5 yrs

KANCHANPUR, May 31: A border pillar missing for the past five years has been found.



The pillar situated in Chadani VDC-3 across the Mahakali River was found during the course of inspection, said Chitra Bahadur KC, Superintendent of Police of Armed Police Border Force. [break]



He said the pillar went missing when the Jogbudha River changed its course and it was found when the river again changed the course. The pillar is in decrypting state, he said.



Police have informed a team of border expert about the pillar. There are 118 main and sub-pillars along the border areas in Kanchanpur.



Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur Buddhi Bahadur Khadka said an agreement will be made between Nepal and India for the conservation and repair of border pillars.
