Minor swept away by rivulet succumbs to injuries

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: A minor has died after being swept away by a rivulet near Narephant in the capital on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as four-year-old Kushal Kathayat, son of Keshab Kathayat, of Ramechhap-35.

The minor who was admitted at B and B Hospital after rescue by the locals and the police breathed his last in the course of treatment.

The victims had been rescued while being flown away by the rivulet near Balkumari Bridge, Lalitpur yesterday.

Similarly, Ramananda Mahato, 35, of Basatpur-9, Bara died after being drowned in the eastern Gandak canal.

Likewise, 40-year-old Rajendra Bhatta of Belauri Municipality-12, Kanchanpur, went missing while crossing a local rivulet.

In another incident, Shyam Babu Mahato, 22, of Sarlahi Ranigunj-4, went missing after being swept away by the Bagmati River.
