Minister Yadav scuffles with trade union cadres inside ministry

KATHMANDU, May 15: Minister for of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Matrika Yadav has involved in the scuffle with the cadres of the trade union at the personal secretariat of the ministry on Wednesday.
Minister Yadav interfered in ongoing dispute of the members of the union, led by Surendra Adhikari and Uttam Katuwal, with personal secretary Prem Acharya. The union leaders affiliated to the main opposition Nepali Congress charged Acharya for taking a bribe for transfer of staffers. The cadres resorted to manhandling as the altercation heated up.
Minister Yadav was inside his office at the time of the dispute. He came out and challenged the leaders to come with evidence of bribe and pointed out that it was the ministry administration’s prerogative to transfer staffers.
Meanwhile, the union has accused the minister of poking nose into the matter while they were talking with Acharya and manhandled the cadres.
