Minister Rai says govt materializing constitution implementation process

BHAKTAPUR, June 30: Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai has said that the government was working out to make the people assured that it was implementing the constitution. 

Inaugurating a-two day seminar on Information and Technology and e- governance organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Nagarkot today, Minister Rai added that the government was entering into the phase of materializing the constitution implementation process. He added that the government was moving ahead on the way to establishing permanent peace as per the public aspiration. 

He further said that optical fibre installation program has already begun and now was planning to launch wireless system. 

Minister Rai stressed on developing IT sectors as it was essential to compete with globe. 

On the occasion, Chief Secretary Dr Somlal Subedi emphasized the need for making good governance of information and communications much effective. 

Likewise, secretary of the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology (MoSTE) Anup Kumar Upadhyay and chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority Digambar Jha also stressed the need for providing access to information and communications even for government office at local level. 

The two-day program will hold consultations on the state of works related to good governance of ministries like Finance, Home, Information and Communications, Environment, Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs, Federal Affairs and Local Development, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Land Reform, the Public Service Commission and the Election Commission.
