BUTWAL, July 2: Minister for Agriculture Chakrapani Khanal said on Tuesday that there is no possibility of the cabinet reshuffle in the immediate future.
Addressing a press conference in Butwal, the minister brushed aside the rumors of the cabinet reshuffle. "However, it falls under the jurisdiction of the prime minister to reshuffle the cabinet whenever he wants," Khanal said claiming that the government is doing its best to serve the country's interests.
"It is true that the government has not been fully able to live up to people's expectations. It might take some time to deliver on its promises," he said.
Amid rumors of growing rift between the two chairpersons of the Nepal Communist Party, Khanal, who is also a leader of the NCP, ruled out the possibility of the party being split.
"The party should remain united. There is no possibility of the party split," he opined.
The two communist parties agreed to run the government on rotation basis when they decided to unify and launch a new community party last year, he said.
"Time has not come yet to change the leadership of the government," Khanal said.
