KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka held a meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s Country Director for Nepal Arnaud Cauchois on Wednesday.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation in Singha Durbar, they discussed the progress of energy sector projects supported by the ADB, according to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI).
The two also deliberated on further enhancing cooperation between the ADB and Nepal.
Extending gratitude towards ADB's support for development of the energy sector, Khadka expressed his optimism about ADB's continued assistance in the future.

He highlighted the government's commitment for the completion of the ADB supported projects in Nepal at the earliest and assured to address the issues emanating during implementation of those projects.
The minister also urged the ADB for considering more investment in Nepal, assuring the stable governance through the alliance of the two biggest parties of the country.
He also sought ADB's support and cooperation with Nepal for its graduation from the Least Developed Country status to a middle-income country.
Similarly, ADB's Country Director Cauchois appraised Minister Khadka about the progress on the ADB-funded projects in Nepal as well the challenges facing implementation of those projects.
He reiterated the ADB's long standing support to Nepal in its endeavor for development.
Present in the meeting were Gopal Prasad Sigdel, secretary of MoEWRI and as well as energy experts among others.
