Minister for Women, Children and Social Affairs attends the 61st session of the CSW

KATHMANDU, March 16: Minister for Women, Children and Social Affairs Kumar Khadka  delivered a speech at the 61st session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) held at the United Nations headquarters, New York on March 15.

“Women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work” is the theme of the session.

Minister  Khadka is leading the team of Nepalese representatives for  the 61st session of the CSW held in New York.

Issuing a press release on March 15, Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations has stated that in his speech, Minister Khadka laid an emphasis on the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Goal 5 and 8 of the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development.

He briefed the participants at the session representing different countries about Nepal’s government’s hitherto policies and practical initiatives designated to redress gender disparities and women empowerment, the press release has stated.

According the press release issued by Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations, at the session of the CSW, Minister Khadka stated that though Nepal has succeeded in making remarkable progresses in the realm of women empowerment, there are still lots of things to be achieved.
