DHANGADHI, Nov 30: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has directed the government bodies concerned to expedite the process to acquire land for the expansion of the runway at Dhangadhi airport. Minister Ale gave the direction after inspecting the airport on Monday.

Land acquisition process begins to expand Jumla Airport
Airport Chief Ramkrishna Bhatta said that they were directed by the Minister to submit a document about the status of the airport and the need for new infrastructures for its upgradation. "The civil aviation authority will submit the necessary files to the ministry soon," he said.
For the expansion of the Dhangadhi airport, a total of 311 bighas of land is required. For this, 228 bighas of land should be acquired immediately. The airport has only 83 bighas of land now.
The flow of passengers has grown lately after different airlines began operating flights to various hilly districts in the far western province from the Dhangadhi airport.
