Millions worth of smuggled lentil confiscated

BIRGUNJ, Dec 5: Millions worth of yellow lentils smuggled across the border from India's Khamiya village was intercepted by Parsa police this morning.

BIRGUNJ, Dec 5: Millions worth of yellow lentils smuggled across the border from India's Khamiya village was intercepted by Parsa police this morning. 



The yellow lentil known as 'Mass Dal' was being smuggled on six tractors with Indian registration number plates through a route leading from Khamiya village located at Champaran in western India. 



The police took under control around 1350 sacks of yellow lentils weighing 40,000 kilos and worth more than Rs 10 million at 4 am. The police team headed by Parsa's Superintendent of Police (SP), Govinda Sah, intercepted the smugglers at Janaki Nagar – 9 of the district. 



The lentil sacks have been dispatched to the District Police Office, Parsa and will be handed over to customs office. RSS
