KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Members of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's secretariat including chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal are likely to resign en masse to be effective from November 17, sources said.

An aide to the prime minister confirmed Republica Online on Saturday evening that they have already briefed the prime minister regarding their plan to resign en masse. "We are stepping down voluntarily from Mangsir 1 (Nov 17)" he said adding they were not under pressure from the PM or any others to do so as reported by a section of media.

Sources said that prime minister's secretariat members hold their internal meeting every Friday. "Yesterday, we held the meeting and decided to resign en masse. It is now up to the prime minister whom he wants to keep working in his secretariat and whom he wants to leave the job," another secretariat member said.

Meanwhile, press advisor to PM Kundan Aryal in a text reply to Republica Online said: "So far I am not aware of this kind of development."
