KATHKATHMANDU, March 5: A meeting of the eight-party alliances is being held today. It is said that the issues of cabinet expansion and presidential election will be discussed in the meeting to be held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, this afternoon.

CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have quit the government after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal formed the eight-party alliance to support the Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for the presidential post. The ministries held by UML and RPP are currently being held by Prime Minister Dahal himself.
