DHARAN, July 7: Medics working on the frontline amid the COVID-19 pandemic staged demonstration demanding security at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science, Dharan on Tuesday.

Earlier, Dr Sudhakar Jha was manhandled in Jhapa after he asked a relative of COVID-19 patient to wear a facemask.

“We health workers who are fighting against COVID-19 day and night are not safe, so we are compelled to stage a demonstration,” said the health workers.

The demonstration was held in the coordination of Youth Medical Association of Province 1 by Nepal Medical Association and Junior Doctors Committee of the association.

The demonstrators have demanded proper security to health workers and legal punishment for those involved in the Jhapa incident.
