POKHARA, Dec 31: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has expressed confidence that the US aid project, MCC (Millennium Challenge Corporation) will be passed through consensus among the political parties.

Mentioning that the MCC was proposed by the government, he clarified that the government will bring everyone to consensus regarding the MCC. "The MCC will be passed with the consent of all," he said at a press conference organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) in Kaski on Friday.

He clarified that the political parties that are against the MCC will come to a mutual consensus. "Those who are against it will reach an agreement. We believe in moving forward by coming to a collective consensus," he said. He emphasized that the MCC should be used by the Nepali people as it was a grant and not a loan.

Home Minister Khand said that the people themselves believe that the grant should be used properly. "It is not a loan, it is a grant. Nepalis should make good use of the grant,” Khand added. He reiterated that Nepalis should make good use of the project as it is a project proposed by the government.
