KATHMANDU, May 10: Mayor of Katari Municipality of Rautahat has been held on the charge of a murder case. Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police held Mayor Siya Ram Kushuwa from Kathmandu on Thursday.

Kushuwa, elected as a mayor from CPN (Maoist Center) held accusing involvement on the murder of the then Chairman of Hindu Youth Association Birjung, Kashinath Tiwari. The temporary bench of the Janakpur High Court, Birjung sentenced Kushuwa to life in prison for killing Tiwari on February.

He was fleeing after the verdict of the court. According to CIB Chief DIG Puskar Karki, Kushuwa has taken to the court for implementation of court’s verdict.
