Govt to propose budget on May 29 after parliament approves govt plans

The budget for current fiscal year 2018-2019 will be presented on May 29, Tuesday 4:00 PM. The speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has called a joint session of federal parliament on the budget presentation of the current fiscal year.

CPN withdraw its support from government in Province-2 

Communist Party of Nepal has withdrawn its support from Rastriya Janta Party Nepal and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal alliance government of Province-2. After which, the assembly meeting of Province-2 has been halted. The RJPN-FSFN coalition government has still the majority in the assembly although the CPN has withdrawn its support. 

District Court finishes recording Gorey's statement

The Morang District Court has completed recording statement of Chuda Mani Upreti aka Gorey, the main accused in 33.5 kg gold smuggling. Gorey’s hearing had been ongoing for four days. Upon completion of statement, protest discussion has started from today itself. 

Economic survey presented, projection of 5.5 economic growth

Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented the economic survey of the current fiscal year and annual status review of public enterprises in the meeting. The survey projected a 5.5 economic growth rate in the current fiscal year. It indicates the contribution of agriculture and agro sector to the Gross Domestic Product by 27.6 and 72.4 percent respectively.
