MUSTANG, Jan 21: A massive wildfire in a jungle at Kunjo VDC, Mustang is yet to come under control. 



The fire started at Pang jungle being used by Forest Conservation Management, Kunjo on Friday afternoon and is reportedly out of control. The local villagers and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) representative have tried to take the fire under control, but in vain, ACAP Management Committee, Kunjo Chairman Ganesh Thakali said. 



The fire is spreading near the Dalit settlement in Jipro area in the jungle's fringes. "The people have already shifted to safer location, there is no such kind of risk," he assured. 



"The police team arrived at the site on Friday night but the fire remains untamed," ACAP Forest Ranger Dhanu Gurung said, adding "Additional teams will arrive from the district to tame it." 



He shared further than Nepal Army personnel and police are preparing to head to the site. Area Police Office, Lete said the authorities were yet to determine the cause of the fire. RSS
