BAJURA, Oct 6: Airlines companies providing air service from and to Kolti airport are found to have been charging irregular price for air tickets.
The passengers heading home for Dashain festival have suffered as a result. Though the airfare is fixed at Rs. 3,760 from Kolti to Nepalgunj, passengers were charged as high as Rs. 7,000. The airlines companies are required to make at least one concession flight per week but that is not happening here, says local journalist Anil Shahi.
The local authorities have turned a deaf ear to the complaints from the sufferers. Teachers, traders and employees based in Bajura, Humla and Mugu have been bearing the brunt of high airfare during the festival period.
Goma, Kasthamandap, Makalu, Sita, Simrik and Nepal Airlines have been providing regular service to Kolti from Nepalgunj and Surkhet. Airlines companies however attribute to chartered flights and the compulsion of flying almost empty from Nepalgunj to the reason behind the high airfare.(RSS)
