Marshmello apologizes for canceling live performance (with video)

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: International artiste Marshmello has apologized for canceling his live performance “Marshmello Live In Nepal” scheduled at Club Déjà Vu, Durbar Marg in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The event was organized by 61 Live Pvt. Ltd.

Fans and audience were outraged and indulged in vandalism when the emcee announced in the wee hours of Thursday saying that Marshmello was unable to perform due to health reasons.

Marshmello issued an apology to his fans through his official Twitter and Instagram profiles.

According to a video statement provided today at 11:45 am by Ritesh Marwadi, Marketing Director of 61 Live Pvt. Ltd., Marshmello was unable to perform at the event last night as he was diagnosed with food poisoning.

The video elaborates that the artiste was nauseous and running a high temperature upon his arrival in Kathmandu from Thailand.

Dr. Sanjay Bhattachan was consulted who then prescribed antibiotics and advised Marshmello to rest, according to the video.

The representative from Marshmello’s team also expressed his disappointment on the cancellation of the event stating, “We’ve never missed a show and this is the last thing we would want.” He also disclosed that the event may be rescheduled in February in the same video provided to us.

Republica, has been trying to contact the organizers after the video was sent to get their statement on how they intend to reimburse tickets, pay for damages, and compensate the sponsors. However the organizers have not responded to us as of now.

An advertisement regarding the event has been published in today’s print edition of Republica– this was a prescheduled advertisement which went to print prior to the event’s cancellation.
