Nepal has set a target of 195 runs for Afghanistan at the ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2018 underway at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Zimbabwe on Saturday. 

Krishna Bahadur Mahara elected as speaker

Without opposition, Krishna Bahadur Mahara frp, CPN Maoist Center was elected as the speaker of federal parliament today. Senior most member of the House of Representatives and acting speaker, Mahantha Thakur, from Rastriya Janta Party-Nepal announced and congratulated Mahara for his win.  

RJP draws attention to meet Chaudhary's demand

Members of the Rastriya Janata Party presidium have met Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today and drew his attention towards responding to the demands raised by RJP leader Resham Chaudhary. Stating that the state of health of the 26 people including leader Chaudhary (who are staging a hunger strike in jail) was deteriorating, the leaders urged the Home Minister to resolve the matter at the earliest.

Water samples show depletion of toxic wastewater in connection with Carlsberg’s brewery in Nepal. A village nearby the brewery is exposed to soot pollution, which leads to an increased risk of respiratory diseases and cancer. Carlsberg acknowledges pollution, but claim that the problems have been solved.

Rs 60 m lost in fire in Saptari

Property worth Rs 60 million was lost in a fire when a shoe shop caught fire at Hatiya in the district headquarters this morning. 
According to the district police office, the shop that belonged to Nausad Khatun was burnt to ashes in the fire.
