Maoists to seek official response on threat

KATHMANDU, Aug. 7: The UCPN-Maoist has decided to ask an official response with Indian officials regarding the life threat issued to the party central committee member and lawmaker Ram Kumar Sharma from the Embassy of India, Nepal.



The meeting of the party office bearers held at the party headquarters, Parisdanda, Saturday morning decided to ask official statement with India over the life threat issue given by the Counsellor of Embassy. [break]

Party vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the meeting concluded that the life threat issued to a lawmaker has tarnished the nation´s image and drew the government attention to be serious over the issue.



Likewise, the meeting also decided to hold discussions with other political parties on prime ministerial elections, make efforts for forming a national consensus government and find the appropriate alternative.



The meeting decided to take initiative to form a Maoist-led national consensus government and vying in the fifth round of prime ministerial round off if there was no consensus for a new government under the party leadership, informed Shrestha.



Similarly, UCPN-Maoist decided to investigate regarding dissatisfaction at the party´s local committee after the appointment of lawmakers Ram Kumar Paswan and Pharmul Nadaf.
