KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The meeting of the Special Committee on Supervision, Management and Rehabilitation of Maoist Combatants scheduled for Sunday has been put off for the second time after the Maoists expressed inability to attend the meeting.

According to a source close to the prime minister, who is the chairman of the committee, the Maoists´ representatives to the committee have expressed inability to attend the meeting in the wake of their second phase of protests. The meeting is supposed to be held every Sunday since last week.

The postponement of the meeting has delayed finalization of the code of conduct prepared by the technical committee of the special committee for cantoned Maoist combatants, and thereby delaying the process of integration, rehabilitation and the management of 19,000 plus Maoist combatants.
