KATHMANDU, July 8: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the communities including women, Dalit, indigenous nationalities and Madhesi would have continually faced disrespect had there been no people's war and people's movement.

Chairperson Dahal said this at a program organized on Saturday by the Pariwar Sewa Samaj to felicitate Dalit rights activist Padma Sundas on his appointment as Nepali Ambassador to Bahrain.

He said that the minority community members have been established in different positions due to the Maoist party and its movement.

"The Dalit, women, indigenous nationalities and Madhesi would continuously be deprived of their rights to participate in policy making process despite having capacity if the Maoists did not wage people's war and struggle in their favour", he claimed.

On the occasion, leaders of Pariwar Sewa Samaj had also felicitated Chairperson Dahal for his special role in establishing republic in Nepal, enshrining the provisions of inclusive proportional representation and opening opportunities for the community to take part in decision making process.
