Maoist Center to organize statute convention in February

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to hold the party's statute convention in February 2024. A meeting of the party, held this morning at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, decided to organize the statue convention in the third week of February.

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to hold the party's statute convention in February 2024. A meeting of the party, held this morning at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, decided to organize the statue convention in the third week of February.


Vice Chairman and Spokesperson Agni Sapkota informed Republica that the meeting established a statute drafting committee. He further stated that the seven-member committee includes Vice-Chairperson Pampha Bhusal, General Secretary Dev Gurung, Deputy General Secretaries Girirajmani Pokharel, Barshaman Pun, and Janardan Sharma, along with Secretaries Ganesh Shah and Ram Karki.

Sapkota also conveyed that the committee will commence its work today and aims to prepare the draft within 15 days. He mentioned that the Central Committee meeting will precede the convention, and once approved by the Central Committee, the draft prepared by the statute drafting committee will be presented to the convention.


Additionally, Sapkota shared that the transformation campaign will conclude on January 1 at the municipal level nationwide, featuring public participation. He added that the meeting concluded the Maoist special transformation campaign as successful and emphasized the need to continue the campaign in a different manner.
