KATHMANDU, July 12: A delegation of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has met CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Dahal's residence in Khumaltar today. The delegation discussed the citizenship bill to be introduced by the government in the House of Representatives.
During the discussion, the executive president of NRNA Kul Acharya, President Dr Badri KC, Founding President Dr Upendra Mahato including other officials thanked the Maoist Center for their support in bringing the bill. They also urged the government to pass the bill as it is in its final stage and address the sentiments of all non-resident Nepali people around the world.
In response, Dahal, who is also a former prime minister, said that the bill would be in line with the provisions of the constitution for non-resident Nepali citizenship. Similarly, according to Executive Chairman Acharya, Dahal said that the CPN (Maoist Center) was positive about the NRN citizenship bill in their next election manifesto as well.
