KATHMANDU, August 20: CPN (Maoist Center) has formed a 17-member Election Manifesto Drafting Committee under the leadership of the party’s Senior Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

A Standing Committee meeting of the party held at the party’s headquarters in Paris Danda on Saturday made a decision to this effect.

The 17-member Manifesto Drafting Committee includes General Secretary Dev Gurung, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Barsha Man Pun, Janardan Sharma, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Lila Mani Pokharel, Ganesh Shah, Parshuram Ramtel, Amrita Thapa, Hari Roka, Jakir Husain, Parshuram Tamang, Bishnu Chaudhary, Bhima Dhungana and Jagat Simkhada as members.

According to Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the Maoist Center is holding discussions with coalition partners to draft a common election manifesto in view of the preparation of the ruling parties to forge an electoral alliance. They will work on common manifesto after the party prepares its own election manifesto.
