MANANG, Sept 29: The Manang District Administration Office has allowed the entry of foreign tourists into the district amid COVID-19. But the DAO has made it mandatory for the visiting tourists to strictly follow health safety protocols.
Those visiting Manang must have a COVID-19 negative test report, hotel bookings and should be fully vaccinated against the virus, said Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane. He said that health safety would be prioritized.
"The infection has not been controlled fully. It is only the rate of infection that has decreased. Health protocols should be followed while reviving tourism amid the infection," he said.
The decision to this effect was taken by the meetings of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee and the District Administration Office.
Prior to this decision, those visiting the district needed to take permission from the District Administration Office. According to the District Administration Office, Manang, those entering the district are tested for the infection and those found infected need to stay in isolation.
The peak season for tourism is from September to November.
