UDAYAPUR, May 18: Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club has advanced into the final of the ongoing fifth Rumpum Udayapur Gold Cup football tournament with a close 3-2 win over Sunsari XI on Thursday.

Manang took the lead after being rewarded with an own goal from Sunsari’s Ramesh Rajbanshi in the 10th minute, while it doubled the lead as African player Victor Amobe scored in the 23rd minute. Nishan Limbu pulled a goal back for Sunsari in the 28th minute, while Saujan Limbu equalized for Sunsari in the 64th minute. Manang scored the decider in the 75th minute through Bimal Rana.

Manang’s Dona Thapa was named man-of-the-match and was rewarded with the cash prize of Rs 7,000.  Manang will face Ruslan Three Star Club in the final on Saturday.
