KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Manakamana Cable Car, which was closed due to lockdown, is scheduled to resume operation from Sunday.
The company said that the Manakamana temple and the market area will be opened, and cable cars will also come into operation as per the decision of the meeting held with the local level stakeholders chaired by the Manakamana Temple Area Development Committee on Tuesday.

The company said that the cable car service will come into operation abiding strict health safety standards. According to the criteria, passengers' body temperature will be measured at both the stations of the cable car and passengers with fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and with flu symptoms will not be allowed to take the ride.
Face mask while entering the cable car, sanitization of hands and physical distance is a must inside the premises. The company has stated that picnics inside the station have been temporarily closed.
Only 50 percent of passengers of the total capacity will be allowed in the cable car. The service of transporting livestock for sacrificial purposes has been temporarily halted. The cable car service will be open from 9AM to 5PM.
